Med Surg Neuro Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a Medical Surgical Neurology unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week options available; any hours beyond 48 per week are considered overtime
* Self-scheduling unit
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required within every 6-week period
* Floating to like units required; no on-call responsibilities
* 32-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
* Rapid response team activation support available
* Epic charting system used
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neurology experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* CPI certification preferred
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drain management, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

The facility supports a collaborative, interdisciplinary care model with access to a broad range of ancillary services. The unit maintains a consistent nurse-to-patient ratio and provides a supportive environment for both experienced and first-time travel nurses.
