Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery (High Risk)
Job Details:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high risk L&D experience highly preferred
* Work in a high risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with all delivery types and 4 operating rooms
* Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month across 31 rooms and 31 beds
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum units and may float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
* Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of newborn until transfer to Postpartum hard stop requirement
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections hard stop requirement
* Must provide newborn care including eye ointment, Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments hard stop requirement
* Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring required
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines with patient ratios of 1:2
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate drips
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Interpretation Services
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
* Proof of required certifications must be submitted with presentation
* Must pass clinical review no exceptions
Facility:
This facility is a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit operating within a large health system with multiple campuses. The unit supports a diverse patient population and follows AWHONN staffing guidelines to ensure quality care. With 31 beds and 4 operating rooms, the facility is equipped to handle all types of deliveries and complex obstetric cases. Interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams are available to support clinical staff.
