L&D Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks or every third weekend required
* 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, AWHONN, NRP - must be in hand at time of submission
* Valid KS or Compact RN license required at time of submission
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Float to postpartum unit as needed based on facility needs
* 50-mile local radius requirement; local candidates not accepted
* Care for laboring patients including high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes for gestations 34 weeks 0 days and greater
* Perform and assist with C-sections, External Cephalic Versions, and vaginal deliveries
* Manage OB triage, postpartum care, and Level 2 Special Care Nursery
* Care for patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults
* Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline, and insulin drips
* Perform neonatal resuscitation, newborn assessments, and fetal heart rate monitoring using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment

Facility:

This facility operates a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit that provides comprehensive obstetric and neonatal care. The unit encompasses OB triage, postpartum care, and a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, supporting a wide range of maternal and newborn needs. The facility is equipped to manage complex, high-risk conditions and surgical procedures, offering a dynamic and well-supported clinical environment.
