Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* Two weekends (4 shifts) required per four-week schedule
* Assigned to the 7th Floor Trauma Med/Surg unit with 34 beds
* Patient ratio of 6:1
* Tech support available on both day and night shifts
* Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Required equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
* Documentation completed using Meditech system
* Contract labor is first to float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
* Required skill set includes Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
* Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care, conduct bedside shift report, and include patients and family members in plan of care
* Required uniform is navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
* Required certifications: BLS
* Active RN license required
