Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2611.84

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with the option to work 36 hours per week
* Every other weekend and every other holiday required
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights
* 29-bed Progressive Care/Medical-Surgical unit
* Common patient diagnoses include abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical cases
* Required skills include IV management, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and electronic health record documentation
* Intermediate care background strongly preferred
* RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin and infrequently insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin
* Telemetry monitor techs on unit; RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips
* Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment; agency staff not required to work in a charge role
* Nurse aides available with ratios of 1:8 on days and 1:14 on nights
* Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy; no ventilators
* Float rotation to other med/surg units possible if unit is overstaffed
* Scrubs of any color permitted
* Orientation includes 12 hours of computer training and 12 hours of shadowing
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred
* BSN not required
* Must clock in and out at the facility

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical and surgical services. The Progressive Care/Medical-Surgical unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring and supports a collaborative care team including nurse aides and respiratory therapy staff. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic health record system and is committed to providing high-quality patient care across a variety of medical and surgical specialties.
