Opportunity:

Sterile Processing SUPERVISOR

Job Details:

* Temp-to-perm opportunity with preference given to those interested in a permanent position
* Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with holiday rotation
* No weekend requirement
* Will float between Main SPD and CSC depending on needs of the units; may be required to float or be permanently switched to CSC, Main, or West Campus
* Floating to sister facilities required
* Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience required
* Prior leadership experience required
* Level 1 Trauma experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap sterile processing required
* Preferred case experience: Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN
* Required certifications: CBSPD and/or CRCST HSPA
* Advanced certification (CIS, CER, CHL) preferred
* Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems preferred
* Experience as a preceptor or trainer preferred
* BLS not required
* Directly supervise Lead Technicians and Sterile Processing Technicians I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage
* Provide daily staff assignments based on workload, case volume, and departmental priorities
* Oversee instrument tracking systems, documentation accuracy, and inventory control
* Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical and procedural case demands
* Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness
* Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, and workflow issues in real time
* Ensure proper segregation of clean and dirty workflows and adherence to infection prevention practices
* Ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and regulatory standards
* Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling requirements
* Participate in interdisciplinary meetings related to instrumentation, workflow, and quality initiatives
* Monitor adherence to infection control, safety, and universal precautions across the department
* Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes
* Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments, medical supplies, and equipment
* Guaranteed hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* All RTO must be provided at time of submission; no RTO will be approved after contract is signed

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 total staffed beds. The facility provides a comprehensive range of surgical and procedural services and maintains high standards for sterile processing and infection prevention. The Sterile Processing Department operates across multiple campuses and supports a wide variety of specialty surgical cases in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
