Opportunity:

Medical Surgical / Registered Nurse

Job Details:

* 4x12 night shift schedule (48-hour weeks)
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed
* Weekend block schedule may be considered but must be discussed during interview
* Patient ratio of 1:12 utilizing a team nursing model (effectively 1:6-7 due to splitting caseload between 2 RNs, LPN, and Med Nurse)
* Day, night, and weekend patient ratio: 6:1
* 45-bed unit with primary surgical oncology patients, medical oncology overflow, and medical-surgical overflow
* Daily census of 30-35 patients
* Adult and geriatric patient population
* Perform wound care, drains, ostomies, and Foley catheter management
* Manage central lines including PAC, PICC lines, and midlines
* Administer chemotherapy for ONS-certified nurses only
* Operate PCA pumps and provide limited phlebotomy coverage at night
* Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required (strictly enforced)
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Prior travel experience required
* Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (strictly enforced)
* Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, must be willing to work 2 of 3 if all three (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment
* RNs may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* EPIC experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: IV Start, Conscious Sedation
* Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
