Opportunity:
RN - Emergency Department
Job Details:
* Work in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 additional hall chairs
* Patient ratio of 1:4, with low acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients, may take up to 6 patients
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 nurses (one mid-shift), 1 unit secretary, and 1-2 techs
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 nurses (one mid-shift), unit secretary until midnight, and 1 tech
* Perform assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV placement, urine collection, lab draws, and care for ESI 5 through 1 patients
* Utilize equipment including cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HPs, Tonopen, and more
* Document using Meditech EMR with vital signs flowing directly into the chart
* Attend mandatory shift huddles at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM unless providing critical care at the time of the huddle
* Complete mandatory EMTALA training
* Level II or Level III trauma experience required
* Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS
* Preferred certifications: CEN or TCRN, CPI
* Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
* Compassion, urgency, and teamwork are extremely important at this location
* Scrub color: Royal Blue preferred
* Sunday seasonal team spirit attire encouraged (e.g., team jersey)

This facility is a Bay Area Emergency Department currently transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma hospital, reflecting significant growth in its capacity to provide high-acuity care.
