RN - MS/ICU/IMC

Job Details:

* Straight night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
* Day shift option also available from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
* Every other weekend required
* Every other holiday required
* On-call requirement exists if census is low, placed on call in rotation with rare cancellations
* ICU or Pediatrics experience preferred
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: MS 1:5 days / 1:6 nights, IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, Peds 1:3-4
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF exacerbation, Afib RVR, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, TIA, stroke, GI bleed, pancreatitis, sepsis, UTI, hip fractures, and pediatric respiratory illness
* RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, PCA Fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine
* RNs must be able to read rhythm strips and report to providers as needed; telemetry monitored remotely by tele techs
* Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators with RT support available 24/7
* Charge nurses take patient assignments; House Supervisor rounds throughout the building without an assignment
* CNA support available with ratios of 1:8-10 during days and nights
* Floating requirements include in-house to ED, UC, and PACU as needed, as well as interfacility floating
* Block scheduling utilized when possible
* Navy scrubs required for RNs
* Charting system: Cerner
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
* Must clock in and out at the facility
* All clinicians must note in their submission whether they have previously worked for this organization, with a required end date of at least 6 months prior to submission date if applicable

This acute care facility operates as a Level 4 trauma center with a 20-bed unit encompassing Medical/Surgical, ICU, and Intermediate Care services. The facility serves a predominantly elderly surrounding population and provides comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and pediatric conditions. The organization maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy support and utilizes advanced ventilator technology to support critically ill patients.
