Job Details:

* Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds and 46 ED beds including 5 safe psych rooms and a fast track area
* Average of 200 patients per day
* Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
* First-time travelers are welcome
* Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, and adult psych
* High geriatric population with common presentations of falls and STEMI
* Small pediatric volume with general transfers to a children's hospital for higher acuity pediatric cases
* No invasive neuro procedures such as craniotomies performed at this facility
* Day shift patient ratios of 1:4-5 with ability to flex based on acuity and staffing
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
* Skills required include cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, knowledge of drips and medication administration, procedural sedation, and blood administration
* TNK administration experience preferred
* Recent EPIC experience required
* Charting system and equipment includes Epic, Alaris, and Pyxis
* Central and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station; no tele tech
* Traveler Telemetry Competency required to be completed and passed prior to start
* Available shifts: Days/Mids starting at 0700 or 1100; Mids/Nights starting at 1500 or 1900
* Likely to work a week at a time on a certain shift, subject to change
* Schedule provided 3 weeks at a time, received approximately 10 days prior to schedule start
* Weekend scheduling will vary based on unit needs
* No on-call required
* Holiday expectations: 2 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* No floating required
* Scrub color: Any professional scrub colors accepted
* Piercings must be modest/studs only; tattoos must not be offensive
* Free parking available in designated areas

This Level III Trauma Center is a large, fast-paced facility with 375 licensed beds and a high-volume emergency department averaging 200 patients per day. The facility offers robust support services including ER techs, charge nurses, a resource/float nurse, respiratory therapy available 24/7, an ED educator, 24/7 security assigned to the ED, a house supervisor, social work services, and pharmacy support available around the clock.
