Opportunity:
CLS - Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Job Details:
* 4x10 schedule working day shifts
* Shift start time at 6:00 AM
* On-call hours from 3:30 AM to 5:30 AM once per week
* EPIC experience required
* Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in California required
* Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA) preferred
* Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences, or allied health technologies required
* Minimum two years of recent clinical laboratory experience required
* Current BLS certification required
* Perform a wide variety of clinical laboratory tests on biological specimens including chemistry, coagulation, hematology, special chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, serology, immunology, bacteriology, microbiology, and referral testing
* Employ positive patient identification procedures to ensure specimen integrity across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing
* Perform specimen collection including phlebotomy procedures, labeling, handling, preservation, processing, transportation, and storage
* Evaluate and document quality control checks and review validity and accuracy of test results
* Correlate test results with diagnoses and communicate critical values promptly
* Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations
* Train and supervise trainees, laboratory assistants, and clerks as needed
