Opportunity:
ECMO SPECIALIST RN
Job Details:
* 13-week initial assignment
* 12-hour shifts with night shift weekend coverage (Saturday/Sunday 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
* 6 weekend shifts every 6-week schedule
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float required to ICU/CVICU as needed
* Minimum 2 years of ECMO Specialist (circuit management) experience required
* Minimum 3 years of CVICU/ICU experience preferred
* RN ECMO Specialists only - Respiratory Therapy or Perfusion ECMO Specialists are not being considered
* Must be trained and experienced in ECMO (VA, VV, V-PA)
* 1-year minimum experience with Epic EMR required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: CES-A or E-AEC, and LVAD
* Required skills include but are not limited to: Activated Clotting Time (ACT), arterial line management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD), titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and nurse-driven ECMO protocols
* Special equipment used includes: CentriMag, CardioHelp, Impella, Teleflex IABP, Philips Monitors, Aquadex, PrismaFlex CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, ArcticSun, ThermoGuard, CardioQuip temperature heater/coolers, and Hemosphere/FloTrac
* Patient diagnoses include: acute cardiac/respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, cardiogenic shock, post-cardiotomy shock, cardiac surgery, and LVAD
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams
