Job Details:
* Minimum 3 years of experience required
* BSN required
* Patient ratio of 3:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Weekends and float required
* 36 orientation hours
* Caribbean blue scrubs required (not provided)
* Utilize Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation
* SBAR communication required
* Care for patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC) - must be in hand, no pending
* California nursing license required in hand upon submission, no pending license
* Required skills include: inpatient oncology; care of patients with bladder, kidney, breast, colorectal, liver, lung, ovarian/uterine, pancreatic, and prostate cancer; administration of chemotherapy; body fluid handling post-chemotherapy; continuous infusion of chemotherapy; IV push administration of chemotherapy; management and disposal of cytotoxic spills; monitoring chemotherapy; oral administration of chemotherapy; ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values; antibiotics; antiemetics; antitumor therapy; corticosteroids; hormonal therapy; Neupogen; and post-surgical care
* Preferred skills include: biotherapy including active immunotherapy, administration of interferons and interleukins, cytotoxic therapy, and ability to recognize and manage side effects; administration of bone marrow; graft rejection and graft-versus-host disease management; stem cell therapies; care of patients with brain, ear/nose/throat, leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma/non-Hodgkins lymphoma, melanoma, and multiple myeloma; IV therapy and infusions; acute tumor lysis syndrome; anaphylaxis; extravasation injury; hemorrhage; sepsis; spinal cord compression; pain management; care coordination; chest tube care and management; colostomy/ileostomy management; Foley catheter insertion and management; interpretation of dysrhythmias; isolation precautions and PPE; neutropenic precautions; phlebotomy; telephone triage; tracheostomy care and management; wound care; advanced directives; hospice care; patient and family education and support; pediatric team collaboration; withholding and withdrawing treatment; radiation therapy; and symptom management
