Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required in a high acuity and high pace environment
* Candidates with 3 or more years of high risk experience will be considered; 5 years strongly preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed; pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units; may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby coverage
* High risk, high volume L&D unit with 4 ORs, 31 rooms, and 31 beds
* Average daily census of 15 patients with 500?600 deliveries per month
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate required
* Must be proficient with Epic electronic fetal monitoring HARD STOP
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Patient diagnoses include midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Patient ratio: 1:2
* Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

This facility is a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit operating within a large healthcare system. The unit supports a wide range of obstetric cases across 31 beds and 4 operating rooms, with robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility is committed to evidence-based staffing practices and follows AWHONN guidelines to ensure the highest standard of maternal and newborn care.
