Opportunity:

L&D Rotating

Job Details:

* Rotating schedule with weekend coverage required and variable number of weekend shifts per contract
* Patient ratios of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
* 24-hour orientation period
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Cerner charting system experience required
* Provide care for neonatal, adolescent, and adult patient populations
* Work within a 10-bed Labor and Delivery unit
* Perform triage of obstetrical patients, assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, and circulate and scrub for C-sections
* Manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients including pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and HELLP syndrome
* Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, and insulin drips
* Use and interpret external and internal fetal monitoring including EFM and IUPC placement
* Perform and assist with sterile vaginal exams, epidural anesthesia support, and neonatal resuscitation
* Support breastfeeding, lactation, newborn assessment, and discharge teaching to parents
* Utilize infusion pumps, PCA IVs, and radiant warmers
* Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
* Up to two pre-approved time-off requests allowed per contract
* Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP (AHA certifications only accepted)
* Active PA or Compact license required

This facility features a dedicated Labor and Delivery unit with 10 beds and robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, transportation, and unit secretaries. The organization is committed to providing comprehensive maternal and neonatal care, handling a significant volume of births per month and supporting a wide range of obstetrical procedures and patient diagnoses.
