Opportunity:

Surgical Technologist

Job Details:

* Day shift position working 40 hours per week on a 4x10 schedule
* On-call rotation: in a 6-week period, 4 week nights and one 48-hour weekend
* Assist the surgical team in preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room
* Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field
* Retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases
* Perform a variety of technical skills including maintenance of supplies
* Accurately check required supplies and equipment prior to each surgical case
* Assemble appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures
* Set up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization
* Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards
* Set up and maintain a neat and orderly sterile field with careful attention to aseptic technique
* Label solutions according to established standards
* Clean equipment and facilities as necessary and perform housekeeping duties as requested
* Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities
* High School Education/GED or equivalent required; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred
* Minimum two years of recent scrub technician or operating room experience required
* Surgery Technician certification preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
* Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred
