Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend shifts required based on unit needs
* Holiday shifts required based on unit needs
* No on-call or standby requirement
* First to float; floating required to like units within the valley (all sites within approximately 20 minutes); may also float as a sitter in Med/Surg or ED
* Care for laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, elective and medical induction of labor, stable antepartum patients, postpartum patients, and well newborns
* Follow AWHONN standards with primarily 1:1 ratios in L&D and 1:6 couple care in postpartum
* Titrate drips including Pitocin per protocol, magnesium, and insulin as needed
* Circulate in OR suites for C-sections
* L&D, postpartum, and circulating experience required; triage experience strongly preferred
* Customized orientation of typically 4 to 6 shifts based on individual traveler needs
* Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment
* Charting system: EPIC
* Blue scrubs provided on unit
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a dedicated Women's Services unit on the third floor, offering comprehensive labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. The unit features 10 labor and delivery beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 10 postpartum beds, averaging approximately 120 births per month. The unit is supported around the clock by an OB hospitalist, on-call midwives, a neonatal NP, a CRNA, charge and resource RNs, and a unit clerk, ensuring high-quality care for both patients and staff.
