Opportunity:

Sterile Processing Technician

Job Details:

* Minimum 5 years of sterile processing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
* Travel experience required
* Scrubs provided as part of dress code
* Required certifications: BLS, IAHCSMM/HSPA; CBSPD preferred
* Required skills include decontamination and disinfection: chemical agents for decontamination, disinfectants, high-level disinfection (HLD), manual cleaning, proper labeling, ultrasonic cleaner, and use of washers/sterilizers
* Required preparation and handling skills: aseptic technique, case cart, organizing trays, placing instruments on trays, preference cards, proper labeling, proper selection of wrapping materials, and sterilization wrapping procedures
* Required experience with processing endoscopes, sets/tray assembly, equipment documentation, and Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM)
* Required specialty equipment processing experience: bariatric, dental, ear/nose/throat, endoscopy, general, laparoscopic, neurology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, robotics, transplant, urology, and vascular
* Required sterilization experience: biological indicators, chemical indicators, gas (ETOH) testing/monitoring, immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS), steam sterilization testing/monitoring, Steris testing/monitoring, and Sterrad testing/monitoring
* Preferred skills include scope/probe reprocessing and flexible endoscope reprocessing: bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, endobronchial ultrasound scopes (EBUS), endoscopic ultrasound scopes (EUS), enteroscopes, ERCP scopes, fiber optics, and flex sigmoidoscopes
* Orientation consists of 16 hours
* Acute hospital operating room experience required
