Opportunity:
RN PCU
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with PCU/ICU experience of approximately 2 years
* Weekend shifts required per unit needs, every other to every third weekend based on needs
* No on-call requirements
* Floating to med surg floors and sister units within region required as needed
* Care for mixed patient population including cardiac, minor trauma, respiratory, and mildly unstable hemodynamic patients
* All rooms are negative pressure capable and have ceiling lifts
* Unit operates with 12 beds and a daily census of 10 patients
* Adults-only patient population
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Colorado nursing license or compact license required and must be in hand
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and computerized documentation
* Special equipment used includes: BiPAP, stable trached vents, arterial lines, and airvo
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
* RTO is not approved during the following blackout periods: September 2 September 12, 2026; October 25 November 4, 2026; November 22 December 2, 2026; December 20 January 3, 2027
