Opportunity:

Sterile Processing Technician

Job Details:

* Variable shift schedule Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
* Decontaminate and process surgical and hospital instruments, including compiling instrument sets, counting instruments, and recording counts
* Sterilize instruments, trays, basins, and equipment using appropriate exposure and dry times
* Prepare instruments for immediate use sterilization when necessary
* Maintain a clean and orderly department environment including daily cleaning of counters, sinks, autoclave exteriors, and high disinfection equipment
* Clean autoclave chambers on a weekly basis
* Assist with picking supplies and instruments for upcoming cases
* Perform daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment including test packs, biological indicators, and diagnostic cycles for Endoscope Processors
* Evaluate instruments for function and safety during reprocessing
* Provide reprocessing services for ancillary department instruments including Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Radiology
* Identify and evaluate loaner instruments prior to processing and maintain loaner tracking log
* Maintain Biological Incubator and log and evaluate biological test results
* Assist Operating Room Housekeeping with room turnover and terminal cleaning of Operating Room suites as needed
* Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to the perioperative services manager
* High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred
* Minimum of two years of recent experience in sterile processing required
* Current BLS certification required
* Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred
* EPIC experience required
