Opportunity:
RN - Multi-Unit (ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, ED Holding, ACLS Transport)
Job Details:
* Work across multiple units including ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, ED Holding, and ACLS Transport roles
* ICU patient ratios: 1:2 based on acuity
* PCU and CCU patient ratios: 1:4 depending on acuity
* Medical and Surgical patient ratios: 1:5
* Rehab patient ratios: 2:8 team model (RN, LPN, Tech)
* ED Holding unit is the primary assignment for travelers; fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and resourcefulness
* ACLS Transport RN will transport patients throughout the entire hospital including inpatient units, ED, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PACU, and Cath Lab
* May float for partial shifts within scope of practice
* First-time travelers accepted
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required for ICU positions
* Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required for PCU positions
* Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required for Med-Surg positions
* Required certifications for ICU and PCU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required certifications for Med-Surg: BLS, NIHSS
* ICU skills required: cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy, general drains, and trachs
* PCU skills required: cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, and IV med titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin, and sometimes Cardene)
* Med-Surg skills required: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, and IV antibiotics
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Strong communication and patient teaching/education skills required
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing
* Telemetry competency required
* Scrubs of any color accepted except camouflage; must look professional
* No phones permitted on the unit; breaks are required
* Orientation includes 2 days of hospital orientation and 1 day on assigned unit
