Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Minimum of 2 holidays required within the contract time frame
* 40-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 24
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on both days and nights
* Nurse aides and patient care techs available on unit at a ratio of 1:12
* Common patient diagnoses include cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure
* RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
* Must be competent in arterial lines
* RNs required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips
* High flow respiratory equipment in use on the unit
* Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
* Floating may be required to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* 1 day of unit/department specific orientation provided
* Pass/Fail open book exam administered on Wednesdays during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%
* If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
* Overhead lifts available in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanner available
* Diverse patient population served, primarily Hispanic and Somali communities
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Driver's license required at submittal
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Candidates must not be within 50 miles of the facility or currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities
