Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* 19-week contract for holiday coverage
* Day shifts available from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required with occasional back-to-back weekends
* No on-call responsibilities
* Block scheduling possible but not guaranteed
* Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required
* Travel experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers considered
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Washington State nursing license
* Respiratory support for ventilators required
* Tracheotomy experience highly preferred but not required
* Additional skills required: g-tubes, NG/OG, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care plans, and discharge to home
* Patient types include: prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS
* Preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)
* EMR system: EPIC
* May occasionally float to ER to act as a sitter, but rare
* Scrub color: any

Facility:

This 152-bed Level II children's hospital features a Level IV NICU, the second highest designation in the state, with 70 NICU beds and a typical census of around 50 patients. The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital and includes high-risk labor and delivery services. The facility offers private rooms in the NICU and overflow Level II Nursery accommodations for feeders and growers, providing a comprehensive and advanced care environment for neonatal patients.
