Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend required; night shift weekends include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
* Holiday rotation with regular staff
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 in a 4-bed ICU
* Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, AFib with RVR, suicide, detox, and occasional med-surg overflow
* Required to titrate drips including propofol, Cardizem, insulin, Precedex, Levophed, and others
* Must be able to monitor and read telemetry strips house-wide for both ICU and med-surg
* Occasional arterial line management and ability to accept pediatric patients required
* May float to med-surg as needed when census is low; typically will not take a full patient team
* Extra shifts may be available; manager is open to working with block scheduling preferences
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS (AHA only)
* Scrub color: any color except camouflage or orange
* ICU experience required
* Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license with application and must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 4-bed ICU staffed with a house supervisor and clinical assistants available most days around the clock based on census. The unit is supported by respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7, covering all areas and managing a full range of equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP. The facility provides comprehensive training including a unit orientation of 3 to 5 days, along with pharmacy, lab, and electronic health record system training coordinated through the education department.
