Opportunity:

RN - IMU (Intermediate Care Unit)

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts running from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; must be on unit and ready to go by 6:45 PM
* Weekend shifts include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; night shift staff must work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
* Self-scheduling is allowed as long as unit needs are met; staff are allowed 4 requested days off per month
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Charting system: EPIC; EMR system: Sunrise
* Patient ratios goal is 1:4, though typically running 1:5 and occasionally 1:6
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently (Nihon Kohden monitors); telemetry techs are available but RNs are responsible for their own strip interpretation
* Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
* All respiratory equipment is managed by Respiratory Therapy (AirVo high flow, Respironics BiPAP)
* IV team handles all IV starts and is in-house 24/7; PICC/Midline team also available
* Pharmacy is in-house 24/7 with Pyxis medication dispensing system
* Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer placements, pre/post caths (manage radial bands and remove, but do not pull sheaths), groin checks, and patients on Tikosyn therapy
* Required to float as needed to Telemetry or MedSurg units with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
* Scrub color requirement: Navy blue top and bottom with navy scrub jackets; no hoodies permitted
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts allowed per 13-week contract; zero tolerance for attendance issues including tardiness and call-offs; any emergency must be reported through proper channels more than 2 hours prior to shift
* Must reside or be located within a 50-mile radius; copy of unexpired driver's license required at submission
* Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
* BSN not required

The unit benefits from 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage, in-house respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and a dedicated IV and PICC/Midline team, ensuring comprehensive support for both staff and patients around the clock.
