RN - PCU/Tele

Job Details:

* Work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
* Rotating weekends and holidays required
* Every-other-weekend requirement with nights scheduled Friday/Saturday
* Open to 48-hour per week contract
* Opportunities for charge nurse and precepting roles
* Patient ratio of 1:5 for both day and night shifts
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* First-time travelers are welcome
* BSN not required
* Chart using EPIC electronic medical records system
* Utilize Phillips Cardiac Monitors and read strips every 4 hours, documenting rhythm in patient charts
* Manage drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Integrilin per protocol, and Nitro at set rates
* Manage Bipap, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen per respiratory therapy
* Work with Omnicell pharmacy system with in-house pharmacy support available 24/7
* Common patient diagnoses include elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cath with and without intervention, post-STEMI after ICU recovery, NSTEMI, peritoneal dialysis, pacers, and occasional post-surgical patients
* Navy blue scrubs required with navy or white jacket; undershirt must be white or navy; hair must be natural color with no pink, purple, or blue; distasteful tattoos must be covered
* 1-2 days of floor-specific orientation depending on experience
* Occasional floating to ICU overflow tele or Ortho/Med-Surg may be required
* Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a PCU/Tele unit across two floors, providing comprehensive cardiac monitoring and step-down care. The facility features a 42-bed combined unit with both private and semi-private rooms, supported by 24/7 in-house hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The unit utilizes advanced Phillips Cardiac Monitors integrated directly with EPIC, ensuring seamless patient data management and high-quality care delivery.
