Opportunity:

RN - Surgical

Job Details:

* Work on a 36-bed post-operative surgical unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
* Collaborate with a team of 8 bedside RNs per shift, with day shift including a Charge RN, Unit Secretary, Manager, and Clinical Nurse Coordinator
* Perform maintenance of post-operative surgical procedure sites
* Provide wound care including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
* Manage Foley catheter care including continuous bladder irrigation
* Perform ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
* Insert and manage nasogastric tubes and suction
* Administer TPN and blood products
* Provide central line care and dressing changes
* Conduct bedside shift reports
* Use equipment including bariatric fitted ADLs, wound vacs, drains, and lifts
* Utilize Meditech EMR system
* Strong time management and efficiency skills required for fast-paced unit with short length of stay
* Background in post-operative surgical areas preferred (vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal)
* Required certification: BLS
* Dress code: Scrubs in black, grey, white, or royal blue
* Float to medical-surgical units as needed
* Must demonstrate prompt attendance, open communication, professional appearance, and attentiveness to patient needs

This facility is a large medical center housing a dedicated 9 Tower Surgical unit within its main tower. The unit specializes in post-operative surgical care, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, and colorectal procedures. The facility is equipped with modern technology and tools to support both patients and staff in delivering high-quality care.
