Med Surg Neuro Days

Job Details:

* Day shift position on a 32-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
* 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule options available; any hours beyond 48 are overtime
* Self-scheduling unit
* 6 weekend shifts required within every 6-week period
* No on-call required
* Float to like units as needed
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neuro experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay)
* CPI preferred
* Charting system: Epic
* Rapid response team activation experience required
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

This facility is a full-service medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The Med Surg Neuro unit is a 32-bed unit supported by a robust interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility utilizes Epic for electronic charting and is committed to providing high-quality patient care across a variety of medical and neurological conditions.
