Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* Every 3rd weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran
* 30-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:4-5
* Patient types include hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
* Experience with drips including PCA and Heparin required
* 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
* Post-operative surgical experience highly preferred
* Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries highly preferred
* PCA and Heparin experience required
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Work history must reflect 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience
* Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry required
* Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
* Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
* Valid driver's license required
* BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
* Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a focus on post-operative patient care, including hip/knee procedures, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system and spans multiple campuses, offering a dynamic work environment for traveling nurses.
