Opportunity:

RN - Postpartum

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Travel experience required - does not accept first-time travelers
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Charting system experience required - Epic
* Compact license must be in hand at submission
* Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
* Floating may be required to NICU or L&D
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Care for post-partum vaginal and cesarean delivery patients
* Perform tubal ligation and circumcision support, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery care
* Administer blood and blood products
* Manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
* Wound vac management
* Administer heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
* Provide OB-GYN, post-op care, post vaginal delivery care, and postpartum re-admit care
* Provide normal newborn care including thermoregulation and glucose management
* Skills required include: postpartum care, discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, thermoregulation, newborn hypoglycemia, post-epidural management, opioid and pain assessment and management, PCA (IV) use, bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instructions, episiotomy and incision care, fundus, lochia, and perineum care, electric and manual breast pump use, vaginal delivery, cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy induced hypertension management
* Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, and adults
* 16-bed unit
