Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12 or 4x12 night shift schedule
* 48 hours per week with overtime beginning at 49 hours
* Minimum 1 year of inpatient medical/surgical experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
* Patients include adult and geriatric age groups
* Charting system: Epic (recent experience within 6 months required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Texas State or Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submittal
* Required skills: Isolation Precautions/PPE, Med/Surg, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral Line Care/Management
* Telemetry monitored in a centralized unit
* Patient Care Technicians and Patient Transporters available on unit
* Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
* 20 orientation hours required
* 50-mile radius rule applies, no local candidates
* All requested time off must be listed at time of submittal

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a Medical Surgical unit with a daily census of 37 patients and 44 beds across 44 rooms. The unit is supported by a free floating charge nurse, dedicated Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and a house discharge nurse that floats across all departments. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services to ensure high-quality patient care.
