Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available with 48-hour weeks approved
* Some weekend shifts required
* Float between units required, including Mother/Baby or functional elsewhere in the facility
* No on-call required
* Labor patient ratio 1:2; Antepartum patient ratio 1:3
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
* Valid Washington or Compact RN license required at time of submission
* Provide acute care for high-risk Labor and Delivery patients including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
* Perform triage of obstetrical patients and sterile vaginal exams
* Place and calibrate IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter)
* Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and administer anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
* Assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate, scrub, and recover for C-sections
* Conduct NST (Non-Stress Tests) and OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests)
* Use external and internal fetal monitoring, including spiral electrode placement
* Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
* Administer blood and blood products, draw venous blood, start and maintain IVs, and use infusion pumps
* Administer medications including Pitocin, prostaglandins, terbutaline, and antiseizure medications
* Assist with vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and manage hemorrhage/shock
* Perform neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and thermoregulation
* Support breastfeeding/lactation, foley catheter insertion/management, and wound assessment/care
* Manage epidural, general, and IV conscious sedation anesthesia as well as nitrous oxide and opioid pain management
* Provide care for specialty procedures including PUBS, cerclages, versions, and high-risk MFM and cardiac patients
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
* Facility averages 200?300+ births per month and approximately 3,600 deliveries per year
* Unit includes 25 rooms and 27 beds with an average daily census of 9 deliveries
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it offers a comprehensive and dynamic clinical environment supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers no-cost parking for staff. The Labor and Delivery unit is equipped to handle high-risk obstetrical patients and complex maternal-fetal cases, with an average of 3,600 deliveries per year.
