Opportunity:

RN - Ortho/Trauma

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per schedule period
* Three weekend shifts required per schedule period
* Patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
* Unit supports 23 beds on an Ortho/Trauma floor
* Float policy requires contract labor to float first to other MedSurg level of care units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma
* Work with equipment including traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
* Document using Meditech system
* Provide care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients as well as trauma patients and some Neuro overflow
* Perform bedside shift report and hourly rounding as part of patient experience requirements
* Unit secretary and PCTs available for staffing support
* Required certifications: BLS
* Ortho experience required
* Telemetry and NIH stroke scale experience required
* Active RN license required
* Navy scrubs required

This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, offering a high level of specialized care across multiple units. The Ortho/Trauma unit operates with 23 beds and is supported by unit secretaries and patient care technicians, providing a collaborative environment for nursing staff. The facility utilizes Meditech for documentation and maintains a strong focus on patient experience through structured rounding and bedside reporting practices.
