Opportunity:

Surgical Services RN - Pre-op/OR/PACU

Job Details:

* Work 40-hour work week with general hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday
* Occasional late days to complete surgical case loads
* Rotational surgical call with other circulating staff averaging 1-2 days per week
* Every other weekend or every 3rd weekend call coverage depending on staffing
* Holiday coverage required
* Must have experience in all three areas: Pre-op, OR/Circulator, and PACU
* Function as primary caregiver across all three surgical service areas
* Conduct patient assessments, document care, and provide emotional support
* Coordinate transfers, recover patients, and circulate surgical cases
* Assist with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilizing
* Prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education
* Handle general, OB/GYN, ophthalmology (cataract surgery), and orthopedic surgeries
* Orthopedic surgeries occur once to twice monthly
* Must adhere to infection control principles and department policies
* Follow national standards through IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN
* Current Colorado RN licensure required
* 3 years Pre-op/OR/PACU experience preferred
* ACLS certification required
* CNOR certification preferred
* Scrub experience preferred
* Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
* Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting required
* Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases possible

This medical facility features 3 operating room suites with 3 PACU and pre-op areas, supported by 1 anesthesia provider. The surgical services department handles a diverse range of procedures including general surgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology with cataract surgeries, and orthopedic procedures. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and follows national guidelines for surgical services, providing comprehensive perioperative care in a well-equipped environment.
