RN - Emergency Department (19 Week Holiday Coverage Contract)

Job Details:

* 19-week contract for holiday coverage
* Shift times vary: Days 7:00 AM?7:00 PM, 9:00 AM?9:00 PM; Mids 10:00 AM?10:00 PM, 11:00 AM?11:00 PM, 12:00 PM?12:00 AM, 1:00 PM?1:00 AM, 2:00 PM?2:00 AM; Evenings 3:00 PM?3:00 AM; Nights 7:00 PM?7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required; back-to-back weekends possible but rare flexibility expected
* No on-call responsibilities
* No floating required
* Scrub color: Any color, no logos
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a large volume, high acuity emergency department required
* First-time travelers will not be considered
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* EMR: Epic experience required
* Patient ratios: 1:3?5 based on acuity; fast track area available (13 beds, green zone); ER is set up in zones
* Patient population: Neonate to geriatric, including pediatrics (medical and trauma), stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder patients
* Level III trauma center serving the busiest ED in the state, seeing 200?250 patients per day
* Skills required: Barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage experience (must pass hospital's Triage Test before allowed to triage), ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/ventilator management, strong understanding of ESI
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus

This is a 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital featuring a 34-bed emergency department that sees between 200 and 250 patients per day, making it the busiest emergency department in the state. The facility operates as a Level III trauma center providing comprehensive emergency services including stroke care, cardiac catheterization lab support, pediatric emergency medicine, and behavioral health services. The emergency department is organized into designated zones to support efficient and high-quality patient care across a wide range of acuity levels.
