RN - CV ICU
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
* Work in a 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) specializing in high-acuity cardiac patients
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2; average daily census of 7
* Work every other weekend with 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th) and orientation week (Monday?Sunday)
* If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
* Care for patients with LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
* Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
* Monitor and care for patients post-AAA repair requiring strict positional protocols
* Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with intensivist and care team at 10:00 AM Monday through Friday
* Effective communication with nurses, physicians, and care team is essential
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting experience preferred
* Community hospital, LTAC, and trauma experience preferred
* 24 orientation hours required
Facility:
This facility is home to a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit that provides expert care for a high-acuity cardiac patient population. The unit operates with an intensivist present Monday through Friday and conducts daily multidisciplinary rounds to ensure coordinated, comprehensive patient care. Interdisciplinary support services include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.
