Job Details:

* Work 4x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend required
* On-call required on a PRN low census basis
* Patient ratios of 1:6 standard, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
* Float required between med/surg units as needed
* Treat adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including diabetes, renal disease, hypertension, CAD, stroke, chest pain, and altered mental status
* All patients eligible for telemetry monitoring managed by monitor techs in a central location
* Work within a 12-bed general medical surgical unit with a total facility bed count of 34
* Telemeicine equipment used on unit; training will be provided
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Free parking available
* 2 years of nursing experience preferred
* South Carolina RN license or Compact license required and must be in hand prior to start
* Required certification: BLS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
* Epic charting experience required
* Required skills include: Med/Surg, Telemetry, Insulin management, and Rapid Response
* Additional skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Chest tubes, Colostomy/Ileostomy care, CVA management, Feeding tube care, Heparin, PICC line management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis, Surgical drains, Tracheostomy care, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and more
* Block scheduling approval can be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
* Previous charge experience preferred

This facility is a community hospital with 34 staffed beds offering comprehensive medical surgical care for adult and geriatric patients. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretaries. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and provides telemedicine technology with on-site instruction to support clinical staff.
