PCU/Tele Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a PCU/Telemetry unit
* Weekend coverage required
* Float to other units within the hospital as needed
* Float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required
* Must be available to work every other holiday
* Patient ratio of 5:1 on nights and weekends
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Cerner charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
* Active PA or Compact license required
* Two supervisor references preferred
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Primary diagnoses include CHF, new onset A-fib, COPD, and pneumonia
* Manage cardiac telemetry including interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias
* Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips including Heparin, Bumex, Cardizem, Nitro, Amiodarone, and Dopamine (no titration)
* No insulin drips; hypoglycemic/insulin protocols in use
* Skills required include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, cardiac telemetry monitoring, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Facility:

This facility is a community hospital offering a comprehensive range of patient care services across multiple specialties. The PCU/Telemetry unit consists of 32 rooms and 35 beds with a daily census of approximately 30 patients. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries, ensuring high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients.
