Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule options: 4x12 or 3x12 nights
* Weekday and weekend shifts required, with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* 34-bed medical/surgical unit with telemetry
* Patient ratios of 1:5-7 for days, nights, and weekends
* Adult patient population
* Daily census of approximately 30 patients
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Must have a permanent address 100 miles or more from the facility
* Skills required include telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, heparin protocols, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Attendance expectations are strictly enforced, with only 2-3 call-offs tolerated per contract

This facility is home to a dynamic 34-bed medicine unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions. The unit is supported by an experienced team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical assistants, unit clerks, and patient care technicians who collaborate to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. An acuity tool is utilized to optimize patient assignments and ensure appropriate staffing levels, with clinical nurse coordinators providing leadership on every shift through daily huddles, patient flow management, and patient rounding.
