Job Details:
* High risk and high volume Labor & Delivery unit with all delivery types and 4 operating rooms
* Minimum 2 years of experience required in a high acuity and high pace environment
* Minimum 3 years of high risk experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Average daily census of 15 patients; 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit consists of 31 rooms and 31 beds; patient ratio of 1:2
* Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum units and between campuses
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum hard stop requirement
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections hard stop requirement
* Must provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments hard stop requirement
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Epic EMR experience required; electronic fetal monitoring required
* Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This facility operates a high risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit equipped with 4 operating rooms and 31 beds, delivering 500-600 babies per month. The unit provides comprehensive maternal and newborn care following AWHONN staffing guidelines and offers robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, social services, and interpretation services. The facility serves a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and patients receiving community and recovery support services.
