RN - Labor and Delivery (High Risk)

Job Details:

* Minimum of 3 years of high risk Labor and Delivery experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
* Must have experience in high acuity and high pace environments
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units and between sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections hard stop requirement
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum hard stop requirement
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments hard stop requirement
* Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate drips required
* Must have proficiency with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring hard stop requirement
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines; patient ratio 1:2
* Average daily census of 15 patients; 500?600 deliveries per month
* Unit contains 31 rooms and 31 beds with 4 operating rooms
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services patients supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Interpretation Services
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
* Orientation hours: 36

This facility operates a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 31 beds and 4 operating rooms, delivering between 500 and 600 babies per month. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services. The facility follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and utilizes EPIC for electronic fetal monitoring and charting, maintaining a strong commitment to high-quality maternal and newborn care.
