Job Details:
* 3 out of 6 weekend shifts required per contract
* Self-scheduling
* Patient ratios of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Average daily census of 105 with approximately 135 visits per day
* 20 rooms and 26 beds available
* Float coverage required for Observation Unit, which holds ER patients
* 40 orientation hours required
* Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off; all RTO must be submitted upfront during submittal
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required
* California state license required; compact license must be in hand at submission; pending license not accepted
* Scrubs: provider may wear their own scrubs; no printed scrubs allowed
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
* TNCC preferred in hand prior to start; candidates willing to obtain TNCC before start date may be considered
* Proficiency in a wide range of emergency department skills including triage, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation, intubation, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients
* Experience with psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, drug overdose, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and multisystem organ dysfunction required
* Facility is STEMI certified, Stroke certified, and EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics)
* Level 3 trauma facility
* Serves patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, lift teams, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
Facility:
This facility is a Level 3 trauma center with a fully equipped emergency department approved for pediatric care. The emergency department operates with 20 rooms and 26 beds and sees approximately 135 patients per day. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke certified and offers extensive interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services, ensuring comprehensive care across all patient age groups.
