Job Details:

* Rotating shift schedule with weekend coverage required
* Number of weekend shifts per contract varies
* Patient ratios of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
* 10-bed Labor and Delivery unit
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Cerner charting system experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP (AHA certifications only accepted)
* Must be available to work every other holiday
* Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
* Care for patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, and adults
* Perform and assist with labor and delivery procedures including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and triage of obstetrical patients
* Administer and monitor Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, epidural anesthesia, and other obstetrical medications
* Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, including EFM and IUPC placement and calibration
* Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care including fundus, lochia, and perineum assessment
* Support neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment
* Manage high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP Syndrome, postpartum hemorrhage, and preterm labor
* Provide breastfeeding and lactation support, car seat education, and discharge teaching to parents
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This facility operates a dedicated Labor and Delivery unit with 10 beds, providing comprehensive obstetrical care for a wide range of maternal and neonatal needs. The unit is supported by a full interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, IV teams, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services. The facility handles between 100 to 300 births per month and is equipped to manage both routine and high-risk obstetrical cases.
