Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
* Telemetry unit caring for patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5; 36-room unit with an average daily census of 35
* Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Holiday coverage required: If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* Must be proficient in managing cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration, including milrinone, dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Bumex, and Heparin
* Key skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Lift equipment available including Sara Steady and other lift devices
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required

The unit supports a high daily census and is staffed with robust interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and maintains high clinical standards, requiring candidates to undergo a clinical screening process to ensure appropriate fit within the unit's specialized care environment.
