Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery / Post-Partum
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week
* Flexible availability required for both day and night shifts, though scheduling will avoid mixing day and night shifts within the same week
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed by the department
* Option to pick up extra shifts available
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting working in both Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum required
* Experience with Pitocin and/or Magnesium drip required
* Solid experience managing Antenatal/Perinatal high-risk patients required
* Extensive knowledge and experience working in a tertiary level facility, preferably with a Maternal Fetal Medicine program
* Assess, plan, implement, and collaborate with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care
* Coordinate and delegate unit and patient care activities to other healthcare providers as appropriate
* Practice within the framework of the nursing process in accordance with the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association professional standards, and AWHONN and AAP guidelines
* Patient ratios: 1:2 for laboring patients, 1:1 preferred for patients on Pitocin in active labor, and 1:5 to 1:6 for stable post-partum mothers or 3 stable couplets
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Scrubs provided by the facility for Maternal Child department nurses
* Current RN license in the State of Wyoming required
* Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
* BSN not required
* 8 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
* Call-off policy: up to 24 hours per 13-week contract
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a dedicated Maternal/Child department that delivers an average of 65 babies per month. The department features 4 LDR rooms, 15 post-partum beds, 7 well-baby beds, and a 7-bed NICU. The facility is a Level II Nursery, with deliveries under 32 weeks transferred to an appropriate higher-level facility. C-sections are managed by the OR department, and the organization is committed to integrating departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum.
