Job Details:

* Position is primarily adult patients - adult experience is required to be considered
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* Day/Night rotation schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekends required as needed
* No holiday requirement
* First to float to ED/ICU for 1:1 assignments as needed
* Unit consists of 17 beds - 14 inpatient and 3 observation
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
* Common diagnoses include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD
* RNs are not required to titrate drips - common drips include electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and diuretics
* Nurse aids available: 2 on days and 1 on nights
* Pediatrician is on-call but not in-house for pediatric patients
* Occasional BiPap present on unit and managed primarily by respiratory therapy
* ICU monitors telemetry and reads strips - MSP nurses apply telemetry to patients
* Self-scheduling available
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Scrub color: Navy blue
* Orientation consists of 1 to 2 twelve-hour shifts as needed
* Facial hair policy: Clinicians with facial hair must pass a fit test (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+) - failure to pass may result in contract cancellation if facial hair cannot be removed
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
