Opportunity:
ICU / Registered Nurse
Job Details:
* Work 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend shifts required
* Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* 50-mile radius rule applies; locals accepted at local rate
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Preferred charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Required to float to CICU and other areas within the organization as needed
* Patient ratio experience of 1:2 required
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, arterial line management, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), suctioning (ETT, NT), and isolation precautions/PPE
* Common patient diagnoses include GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, cardiac and respiratory arrest, overdose, suicide, CIWA/withdrawal, neurosurgical, surgical, post cardiac cath, end of life/comfort care, organ procurement, acute stroke, trauma, and targeted temperature management
* Special procedures include CT tube insertion, EVD drains, CRRT, and acute stroke management
* Special equipment includes CRRT, Zoll for targeted temperature management, and EKOS
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Self-scheduling model
* Keep time-off requests to a minimum; no requests preferred in the first two weeks of assignment
* Expect to work some holidays
* Must hold an active South Carolina nursing license at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
* 2 supervisory references required
* Copy of certifications required
