Opportunity:
ECMO SPECIALIST RN
Job Details:
* 13-week assignment
* 12-hour shifts with 6 weekend shifts every 6-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float required to ICU/CVICU as needed
* Must be ECMO trained - RN ECMO Specialists only (Respiratory Therapy or Perfusion ECMO Specialists will not be considered)
* Minimum 2 years of ECMO Specialist (circuit management) experience required
* 3 or more years of CVICU/ICU experience preferred
* Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: CES-A or E-AEC and LVAD
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Charting system experience required (Epic)
* Perform and manage ECMO (VA, VV, V-PA), Impella (CP, 5.5, RP Flex), IABP, ProTek/RVAD procedures
* Operate specialized equipment including CentriMag, CardioHelp, Impella, Teleflex IABP, Philips Monitors, Aquadex, PrismaFlex CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, ArcticSun, ThermoGuard, CardioQuip temperature heater/coolers, and Hemosphere/FloTrac
* Care for adult patients with diagnoses including acute cardiac/respiratory failure, ARDS, cardiogenic shock, post-cardiotomy shock, cardiac surgery, and LVAD
* Key skills required include ECMO circuit management, arterial line management, CVVHD/CRRT, ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and intra-aortic balloon pump management
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
