Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* 2 years of nursing experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred, no local candidates within 100-mile radius
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage a variety of patient diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Apply the nursing process across multiple age groups including adults and geriatrics
* Document thoroughly as care is delivered following regulatory and hospital requirements
* Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
* Float to other units as long as competencies are met
* Proficiency with skills including accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, heparin, high flow nasal cannula, insulin, interpretation of arterial blood gases, isolation precautions/PPE, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Must demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment while maintaining a professional demeanor
* Computer proficiency required including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software

Facility:

This facility operates a 48-bed medical-surgical unit supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The unit provides high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of complex medical diagnoses and maintains consistent staffing ratios to ensure patient safety and optimal care delivery.
