Job Details:

* Full-time position requiring 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
* Work in an LDRP unit with 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite
* Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 intermediate care with minimum 2 NICU nurses in unit at all times
* No unit secretaries or techs available on unit
* Labor and delivery experience required, including ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment
* Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
* Fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil) required
* Procedures performed on unit include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training
* Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy
* Documentation systems used: Meditech and CPN
* Equipment includes CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps
* Daily rounding on all patients and SAFETY rounding required
* Float policy requires staff to float anywhere within the facility if not needed on unit; some staff cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU

This facility is a Joint Commission certified medical center with designations as a Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II NICU. The Women's Services unit is staffed by a highly experienced team of registered nurses, many of whom bring decades of expertise in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. The LDRP structure provides a comprehensive care environment offering valuable experience across the full spectrum of maternal and newborn care.
